Fishing
The Dullstroom and Belfast area is synonymous with fly-fishing. The main lake
in front of the lodge is well-stocked with trout and fly-fishing is done from
sturdy bass boats or from a couple of jetties. A fish slaughtering and weighing
facility is available at the lodge. |

The second
lake is well-stocked with large-mouthed black bass and fly- or lure-fishing can
be done from jetties.
Horse-riding
Experience the pristine beauty of Lakenvlei on horseback. Equestrian facilities
include up-market stabling with morning and afternoon guided outrides. Special
provision is made for novice, intermediate and advanced riders. Pony rides are
also available for children.
Star-gazing
Allow our staff to take you on a tour of the planets. Up here in the bracing highlands
of Mpumalanga, the air is crisp and clear and the stars snap into vivid focus
impossible in a city environment. Where required, a local astronomer can be organised
for an in-depth look at the universe.
Tennis
Enjoy a game of tennis on our court that has an unique forest setting.
Bring your own equipment or rent from reception.
Bird-watching
As mentioned, the wetland offers vast bird-watching opportunities, either on foot,
mountain bike or from the bird hide. A leisurely walk or cycle will also bring
you into contact with bird species that frequent the different open grassland,
rocky outcrop and forest floor and canopy habitats. Bird lists are available from
the shop.
